MEGAMAN [SO SOLID] FEATURES IN NEW JUNIOR BRAT VIDEO

Junior Brat returns with a banger and one very conscious eye on his community. The twenty five year old South London based rapper is focused and it’s clear from the the word go. ‘Black Britain’ is the first single and visual from the forthcoming E.P ‘Love & Hate’ to be released later this summer. The track takes aim at the current state of modern inner city life and is a call to uplift the next generation. It’s an old adage but one that’s delivered with clarity and over rattling sub lo production by Status Legendary coupled with a creepingly infectious hook. The video, shot by Morgan Keyz, fits perfectly and features his old spa Megaman [So Solid] and London Huges.

Bloom Twins – Fahrenheit

Growing up in a small Ukrainian town outside Kiev, this remarkably gifted Bloom Twins were immersed in music before escaping its’ confines, fiercely determined to head into the outside world and make an impression.
They moved to London to improve their art and the culture they found shocked them.
Coming from such a different background, one would fear that they might become enchanted by the big city life.

Instead they felt disconnected to the materialistic, narcissistic lifestyles of most people their age, and grew more and more committed to each other and their music.
These eighteen year olds have steely drive behind the gossamer intimacy of the music. Having already mastered the keyboard, flute and harmonica, they are now turning their hand to the guitar and  drums to match the electronic beats.

Charlie Coffeen Ft. Angele Anise & Tyler Berg – Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe

Chicago pianist Charlie Coffeen comes together with drummer Tyler Berg and singer Angele Anise for an acoustic rendition of Kendrick Lamar’s “B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe”.

The music video was shot by Bradley Murray, Kristie Kahns, Ryan Schorr and David Burkart. “I’ve been wearing Kendrick’s album out since it dropped, and I had an idea to do a version of this song while I was on the road for some shows last month,” says Charlie. “Angéle is one of my favorite vocalists, and Tyler and I play together all the time.

This line-up seemed like the right fit to do something special with this song, so we got together for a few hours at I.V. Lab in Chicago with some friends around to shoot the performance and ended up with this.” Charlie and Tyler are both members of Chicago hip-hop/soul/jazz band Sidewalk Chalk, which was named Best Chicago Hip-Hop Act of 2010 by Chicago Reader.

Sidewalk Chalk is releasing its sophomore album, Leaves, on February 25th before touring across the US. Initial tour dates include Chicago at the Double Door (2/21), DROM in New York (2/22), and Hotel Cafe in LA (3/28).
